I Listened to Thomas Hubl today
and it was exactly what I needed as I am either often angry or afraid, or sometimes numb from the political climate and flood of bad news or disinformation campaign du jour. I sometimes have a sadness about the state of affairs that feels bigger than my joy for what is good and right with the world. I was taking note of that in my Self, and voila, Thomas shows up to provide this beautiful teaching, one I needed to hear, one I want to become.
Thomas encourages us to come back to Self toward healing, when we are overwhelmed by the world, because as I heal, you heal.
Thomas invites us to listen (really listen) to the pain of others, because I am in relationship to you. As you heal, I heal.
Thomas enourages for us to know what we are not in relation to, and not take that on. (Set boundaries- that is my word, but I think he would approve).
He encourages us to sit with what we are in relationship to and ask, who/how am I in relationship to this? How does it show up in all ways: in body, mind, emotionally, and in relationship to other.
Sit with what you are in relationship to and become the embodied witness to it. That is how we digest what is happening in and around us. Not flood from it. Not need to numb it.
Come back to presence by attuning to breath- and slow it down, particularly the exhalation.
See right here and now for “Seeing is presence; Presence sees,” Thomas taught us today.
We must be with the experience and witness the experience.
He reminds us to turn off the news as is right for you. Like in all things, find that balance- beware becoming flooded with information/news/media and conversely, beware becoming numb or spiritual bypassing/not seeing.
Find your middle path.
As we take care of Self, in body, mind, and spirit, as we listen to others and help them feel seen, heard, and felt, we beccome a more coherent collective.
Thomas says as we take care of our own nervous and immune system, the collective nervous and immune system of the world heals. The collective system can become aware of itself. The witness.
For me, I’m all in to regenerate myself by setting better boundaries on my news and media diet. For me I am all in for improving my self care for a more balanced nervous and immune system. For me I will call out what needs to be called out, maybe do an action item, and then I will rest and rebuild to resource myself for the next action (do the next right thing). In this practice, the joy can shine through the darkness. It is here, always has been.
Might you join me?
(I did the best I could to come up with my grasp of Thomas Hubl’s one hour presentation. I’m not part of this organization, just a seeker, healer and writer of all things wellness.)
